Open Question: How do I fix this problem?
I'm working on a project in my Digital Photography class, and I need to work on Photoshop. But whenever I save a picture and upload it on photobucket, it comes out really small when I show it like on a forum or something. How do I fix this? Can anyone give me a solution? Like, when I go to properties of the photo it'll say like 1024 x 720, but when I upload it, it comes out way smaller. Can anyone give me a solution to this?I'm wondering how I can keep my picture resoution when I upload it on photobucket. moreResolved Question: what software/editing program do you use like this?
okay i want to know what the editing software program is that can make a black and white picture with some color in in thats the real colors. its hard to explain, like this: http://forums.biorust.com/attachments/photography-photo-manipulation/1310d1186529442-color-black-white-gradient-gradient.jpg or this: http://digital-photography-school.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/black-and-white-colour-1.jpg please answer. thanks so muchFREE!!! moreResolved Question: Digital SLR photography Forum?
I just bought my digital SLR camera and I like to learn more about SLR photography such controlling aperture, shutter speed and etc. Can someone recommend a good forum to join? moreResolved Question: What are some of the best digital photography forums?
I am a large Canon user and I was wondering what some of the best and most active digital photography forums are. Preferably exclusive to Canon DSLR's but they don't have to be. Thanks guys! moreResolved Question: Could use some critiques on photos please?
I took both these photos today and would like some opinions. thanks in advance! http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/members/dutchess85-albums-my-photos-picture23864-red-flowers.html http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/members/dutchess85-albums-my-photos-picture23865-wet-lonely-leaf.htmlThanks! I would have liked to play around more with the angles but I was just out on a drive and it was raining. moreResolved Question: Nikon D3, DSLR..........query?
After owning 2x Nikon FM2'S for almost 20 years, i felt it was now time to move into the world of digital photography. I was slightly concerned with the models i have chosen to buy after reading hundreds of reviews, the cameras are Nikon D3's. What's concerning me most, is this shutter life span claim, they say (Nikon) it's good for over 300.000 actuation's, but reviews on certain DSLR forums say that some models are failing at 80,000 releases. So what's the deal there then! does that mean that DSLR's are disposable goods?, how much would a new shutter cost? and would it be viable, bearing in mind, that these are pro cameras, and costly ones at that. My FM2's must have done that on test frames alone in the first 12 months, and yes they do have a titanium shutter but that's not the point. So excuse my naivety, cant they (nikon) apply the old fashioned technology to the new age DSLR cameras, or would it not be in their interest to do so. This is intended to be a query/question, and as i said, i am new to DSLR photography, so i would just like to read your opinions. Many thanks.Fhotoace, whilst talking filters, i notice that the new Nikon 14-24mm lens does not even accept them........one step back in my eyes!See where you are coming from Derge, but don't take my actuations literal regarding the FM2s, but i wasn't far off on my F3s, dont forget, with an MD11 attached, and the manual film winder held open, you can shoot endlessly whilst out there working, even test framing. So i still get the impression that it's a game of lottery, as in, i hope my shutter don't fail when the shoot starts, type of thing. All i'm saying is, it's like owning a car, and not being able to carry out the basic maintenance to prolong it's life span. Thanks for replying.Jimmy mae, the answer is yes, quite easily, the industry i was in as a pro photographer required regular actuations with the motor drives and turbo driven metz flash guns attached, particularly on freezing cold nights. OK guys i'm convinced, you've put up a good battle, i will be posting another couple of questions today, so i hope that you can point me in the right direction regarding them. Thanks again. moreVoting Question: SLR Cameras. Nikon vs. Canon?
I've been looking into buying a SLR camera. I've looked at many consumer reports and online forums but still can't seem to narrow down my choices. I'm new into photography so having a very expensive camera with a lot of complex settings and high megapixels doesn't seem necessary I've considered a Nikon D40, Nikon D80 or a Canon EOS Digital Rebel xTi if anyone is familiar with other brands of cameras that they've liked please, all help is needed moreResolved Question: Photography HELP! 2nd Curtain on Rebel XT and mac?
I was taught photography in my arts program at UNI, but on film - I'm a pro in the darkroom!... But a while back I purchased a Rebel XT and I am not as familiar with the digital settings. I have taken some great photos with it, but it seems everytime I pick it up, I get somewhat intimidated (same with trying to figure it out on my own with the manual). I want to take some night indoor (bar etc) photos and I have been reading forums on using the 2nd curtain.... The manual has a small blurb about this, but is not exactly helpful on how to actually do it. Anyone have a step by step?.... Also! I just bought a new mac - I used a burnt version of photoshop on my PC for editing photos and other images, would photoshop still be the best program to use on my mac? or does anyone have any other suggestions? moreResolved Question: How do I take really close-up pictures?
I see people taking amazing close-up pictures like this http://photocamel.com/forum/macro-close-up-photography/45885-get-buggin.html How do you do that? I have a kodak digital camera. moreResolved Question: I want to start photography..?
But I don't know where to start ): I wanna take pictures that like..you know look cool! Like pictures with good lighting, idk, It's hard to describe. Here's an example: http://www.pbase.com/connorroelke/on_the_water I found that dude's album's from a forum and those pictures are amazing! Like the Golden Morning picture, how does that dude do it?? Whenever I take a picture like that with my digital camera, it appears nothing like that! Is my problem using a digital camera? What do you guys recommend for a beginner for one of those fancy cameras? moreResolved Question: Digital Photography Logo?
I am starting my own photography business and i want to add a logo to my pictures so the rights are reserved but i don't know how i asked people in forums to help but they only help their friends apparently anything i can use to do one aside of Photoshop ? moreResolved Question: What's a good digital photo forum site that's 'user friendly'?
I've tried to pose questions about digital photography and software on a few digital photo sites, but the responders for the most part provide answers that denigrate the question as though the question is stupid or I get different answers from responders who insist their way is the best way because they've been practicing photography for 35 years, etc. Any photo sites where there are forums with friendly, helpful people? moreResolved Question: I am looking for a good photographers forum, preferrably digital. Any suggestions would be helpful?
I have my photography business that I do from home but have read a lot and most talk about the forums and how much they have helped them. moreResolved Question: Information / advice on computing skills for a photo site?
I am launching a new free to access / open source website for teaching digital photography skills. This is quite extensive and includes computer systems set-up, troubleshooting and maintenance - essential for anyone doing digital photography, but not core business in imaging terms. We are looking for help to extend and expand our articles teaching people to become better digital photographers... this info can be posted back to YA and other forums as it is free and open source. Is anyone willing to contribute time, articles, illustrations, editorial advice, especially in the computer skills section? Re: http://www.image-nut.com (See Computer skills, under Tutorials) Thanks! moreResolved Question: Need help - I'm taking photos @ my friend's wedding?
I'm not a photography student, nor do I own expensive equipment. I have a great digital camera that has worked great for me for the time I've owned it. My friends are looking to save themselves money at their wedding and have asked me to take pictures for them. Is there any help that you can give for what kinds of pictures are taken? -- PLEASE do not leave snide remarks on how the biggest mistake for anyone is to choose a friend to take wedding pictures, or to take a class. Don't want to hear it, I've seen enough rude comments in the photography forum so don't worry, you're voice has been heard. All I want is some help with what kinds of poses to ask for the couple, wedding party and what pictures are taken at a ceremony. Thanks. -- moreResolved Question: Photographers...Long Exposures...Night Photography...Help?
I have a Nikon D80 digital SLR, an 18-55G & 12-24mm Tokina Wide Angle, both with C.Polarizer filters, and an SB-600 Speedlight. First off, is my camera capable of performing long exposure shots, and second, how do i set up my camera? Do i need a tripod? Do i need a different lens? Whats involved? I want to be able to take pictures of the stars at night, of roads with moving traffic and get that rear curtain trails effect, and the foamy blurred water effect of moving currents. Any help is greatly appreciated. Perhaps you can refer me to a forum which discusses this in more detail. Thanks! moreResolved Question: What is the best way of taking pictures of really dark tunnels/bunkers etc?
I read a few forums on the net where there are pictures taken within pitch black environments, yet the photo is clear as day. Is this kind of photography possible with a standard digital camera, or does it require an expensive SLR? moreResolved Question: Need your opinion? SLR camera for beginner "Nikon" or "Canon"?
I want to buy a new SLR camera to replace my digital camera becouse i want to learn the photography. But i dont know anything about SLR camera. I got some info from my friends and some forums that Canon and Nikon are the best for digital SLR. Which model of Canon or Nikon that you recommend to me? moreResolved Question: How to take charge of my interest in photography?
I am interested in photography but I havent yet taken any good pictures recentl. Lately though I think that I should take some steps to improve on it. What should I do to build up on my interest in photography? I have Canon Powershot S80 and my sister left me her EOS Rebel 2000 which I have no idea how to use since it requires real film in comparison of my basic knowledge only on operating digital cameras. Any ideas on how to get this baby up and running? [I have a specific question targetting this on on the photography forum] Anyway, what steps would you suggest me to take in improving myself? Take classes? Join competitions? etc.. Please help me... :) moreResolved Question: What are some good websites, discussion forums, or books for a novice photographer?
I'm interested in learning more about photography. I'm about to purchase a new digital camera (probably the Canon Powershot S3) and I want to take better pictures (especially portraits). I know that a class would be beneficial; but I've already got too many commitments right now. So... in the mean time, where is a good spot for me to learn? Where is a good discussion forum for newbies to ask basic, newbie questions or post beginner photos for critiques? Thank you so much!! moreResolved Question: How do I get people to join my Digital Photography forum?
