Open Question: What are some good wine pairings?
I am not a big drinker, but I do like to indulge in a glass of wine on occasion. However, I am unfamiliar with different wines and the foods that compliment them. What are some good wine pairings? I love brie with crackers. What wine would go well with this? What about regular sharp cheddar? Salmon? Italian pasta? Chicken dishes? These are just some that I am curious about, but I am open to suggestions on anything else I might not have mentioned that goes well together. Thank you very much in advance! moreResolved Question: What's a good and inexpensive red wine for someone who hates wine?
My husband and I rarely drink. I especially dislike the taste of alcohol, I don't care for beer or hard liquor and will only partake when the beverage is on the "sweet" side (i.e.-apple cider ale, Mike's lemonade, rum with fruit juice... etc). I would like to start drinking of red wine, mainly for the health benefits. However, since I have the palate of a three-year-old, it's hard to find wine I can tolerate. Mostly, I find wine of any type to be too bitter and acidic tasting--just not pleasant at all; I can barely finish a small glass. So, I haven't been able to "train" my buds to appreciate wine, much less drink it without making the "yuck" face. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive red wine that won't entirely offend my infantile taste buds? I live in the suburbs of a big city, so I do have access to plenty of choices, including Trader Joe's, Cost Plus, and Whole Foods. (please, red wine suggestions only--not interested in white or rosé). Thanks! PS-I did try a red wine once that I liked (can't remember type or vintner). It was Italian, very expensive, very delicate, and nearly flavorless (there had a very faint oak taste, but zero bitterness and no acidic aftertaste). I haven't tried anything like it since. Any ideas what it could have been?I want to answer Gerry G's question with a question: Why waste time answering at all when you can better spend your time watching "Sideways" and snickering snobbishly at anyone who can't "appreciate" life on as many finely attuned levels as you do? moreResolved Question: Can I take 25mg Viagra with wine in my system?
This weekend is my fiance's birthday and I am taking her out for a very nice dinner. I am a healthy 26 year old male but was just prescribed Viagra by my doctor for a possible E.D problem. We are going to our favorite Italian restaurant and do not plan on getting wasted but will probably have a glass of wine or two. I know it is definitely not safe to take Viagra while you have a lot of alcohol in your system but what if it's just one or two glasses of wine. We plan on having....a lot of sex that night..lol...but i don't want to ruin it with the wine. Thanks to all who answer! moreResolved Question: Going to Rome for a week, what should my food budget be?
My wife and I (and possibly our son who will be nearly a year old by that time) will be visiting Rome in mid november (found that Nov was REALLY cheap for package deals FYI) We would like to know how much we should set aside for food. About our eating habits: We will be going to Rome as part pilgrimage,, part for site seeing, and the last part TO EAT! We are not snobs though. We don't need 5 star restaurants, we prefer to eat where locals eat and eat well. I don't want any high end molecular gastronomy stuff, I want authentic Italian food. My wife never drinks, and I rarely drink during meals. If I do I'll have a glass of wine or a beer. We don't mind shopping for a picnic here and there, some cheese and a cheap bottle of wine would be nice and in keeping with our "taste Italy" theme. Our only issue with grocery shopping is, we will probably be getting a hotel and not an apartment so not having a fridge will suck. So with that helpful info, what would you guys reckon we will spend on food? moreResolved Question: Can you bring bottles of wine back through your checked baggage on an airplane?
I would like to bring back a bottle of Italian wine to the States in my checked baggage on my flight. Do I have to declare that through customs? When I orginally checked my bags, they asked me if I had any liquids or perishables, but does this count and would I have to mark it fragile if in a glass bottle or should I leave it as is? moreResolved Question: How to serve wine chilled or not? Glass with stem or not?
I was at an Italian restaurant the other day and we ordered wine. Our wine came in glasses with no stem. They looked like regular glasses you would use everyday for water, milk, etc. I asked the server and they said this was the proper way to serve wine. Is this true or does it depend on the wine, culture etc.? Also what wines do you serve chilled and not? moreResolved Question: please help me with this test already have the answers just want to see if they are right thank you?

20 November 1719 – Evening On the opposite side of the war, they were sat in a tremendously decorated drawing room lined with frescoes and carpeted in fine rugs. They were sipping their wines and looking into the fire crackling in the fireplace, passing comments between them. All except one man; this man: a thinly-shaped, sour-faced man with shaggy hair and a black goatee. He refused to take wine. “It’s a fine brand, from the Italian Riviera. Not as good as our own Elysian concocts, I admit, but has its merits.” “I refuse to drink that stuff.” “Why not, Julius. Is it wrong to be merry?” “It is not the time to be merry, Courat,” he replied, getting out of his chair to take out of his briefcase a bottle of scotch. “Wine is for peace, scotch for times of war. It is because of this that the Italians keep suing for peace and the Scots keep calling for war.” The assembly laughed. “But victory is ours, surely,” said Courat. “Can’t we drink to that?” “You can. You would be toasting a thing non-existent, a fanciful idea which floats in your imagination.” “Julius,” said another, pretending to embrace the room with his arms, “this is victory. I see it as I walk in these palaces. I can smell it in the roses. I can taste it in the wine.” “Then keep tasting, Dominicus,” said Julius, “for your mind is clotted with wine and you cannot distinguish false from fact.” Another wave of laughter emerged. “Jest comes easy to you this evening,” said Dominicus. “Perhaps the incorruptible Julius is as influenced by liquor as we are by wine.” “Does liquor give for fine humour then, Dominicus?” said Courat with a smile. “No, Courat. Wine makes you laugh to anything,” said Julius before Dominicus could reply. “So the fault is in us?” “The fault is in that bottle,” said Julius, pointing straight to the Italian beverage as he sat back down with a glass in his hand. “The King was not dethroned because the country was in turmoil. He was dethroned because he was too drunk to fix it.” “But that’s all history, Julius,” said a man who had been listening from the window. “The King is dead. We killed him. The realm belongs to us now.” “The people, Frederberg, not us,” said Julius impatiently. “I dislike it when you forget the people.” A moment of awkwardness followed this remark until Courat broke the tension. “Why do you not think the revolution was a success?” Julius took his time, appearing to ponder. “Perhaps he fears the Prince?” said Dominicus. “He is a danger,” said Julius, gently nodding his head. “The people could go over to him at any moment.” “The people hate monarchy,” said Frederberg. “Not a week has passed since they lynched the rotten bastard from the Dungeon towers.” “Oh, they hated that king, yes. But the Prince?” Julius got up and began meandering around the room. The assembly watched him think. “Public memory is short and shaky – very much dependent on the public purse; if the Prince promises them riches in return for favours, he will have bought their hearts.” “But he has no riches! We currently hold the positions of power, so we can pull the strings,” said Frederberg. “He has no riches, but he has rich blood. When his forefathers were reigning and bathing in glory, our ancestors were nibbling sawdust and serving like animals in the fields! Or have we become too immersed into our newly-found lifestyles that we have conveniently forgotten our humble backgrounds? And if we have forgotten, gentlemen, the people never will. They know a nobleman when they see one. We don’t dress like kings and speak like dukes, or do we? Are we to emulate the tyrants we have vanquished? This revolution is trying to break that tradition – restore the primordial equality of mankind.” “And we have succeeded!” “No!” shouted Julius as he slammed his glass on a nearby table. “No, we have not. Success is not conquering thrones but conquering minds. I beseech anyone of you to go tomorrow to the marketplace and observe. Ask any person for their friendship and see how they respond. ‘Who is your father?’ they will ask. ‘To which tribe do you belong? To which god do you sacrifice?’ This revolution has failed to change the most important section of society: its people. Our government is new and our leaders are new, but what will it matter if we are still struggling in the same old squalor?!” Nobody said a word. Julius rested his head against the wall and held his shoulder in his hand. When he spoke again, he was much calmer and restrained. “Change will not arise anywhere until its people change themselves. Take these words as gospel, gentlemen, and learn them off by heart: the revolution has not ended; it has only just begun.” NOTE: This is not 1st chapter moreResolved Question: 10 points for constructive criticism of my writing?

Wine makes you laugh to anything,” said Julius before Dominicus could answer. “He has no position, but he has a claim to our positions. When his forefathers were reigning and bathing in glory, our ancestors were nibbling sawdust and serving like animals on farms! The people never forget this. We live in a world of a privileged few. This revolution is trying to break that tradition – restore the primordial equality of mankind.” “And we have succeeded!” “No, Courat. Success is not conquering thrones but conquering minds. Go tomorrow to the marketplace and observe. Ask any person for their friendship and see how they respond. ‘Who is your father?’ they will ask. ‘To which tribe do you belong? Which god do you worship?’ This revolution has failed to change the most important section of society: its people. Our government is new and our leaders are new, but what will it matter if we are still struggling in the same old squalor. Change will not arise anywhere until its people begin changing themselves. Take these words as gospel, gentlemen, and recite them regularly: the revolution has not ended; it has only just begun.” moreResolved Question: Buddhism clashes with Tradition. Help?

I come from an Italian dad, and polish mom, and we do share some customs, talking with our hands, dressing up to make a good first appearance, a glass of wine with dinner, etc. But I've been given an assignment to do a poster on our heritage.... I can't fill up a poster with what I have. Maybe you can help me. What are some other customs that polish/italian people have? What are some italian/polish sports? What are styles of dress? They have a couple of glasses of wine over the course of the day, and then an espresso after dinner...and that's it! I'm talking about alcoholic drinks. It can be anyone close to you (not just parents). What do they drink at home/order at the bar? Why do you think they chose this drink as their regular and what does it say about their personality? For example: My Mom: If we are out to dinner, she will order the recommended house wine, usually red. She always asks to taste a sip first. Thrifty but also appreciates good quality. At a bar she will order a 7 and 7.. maybe because she is familiar with it (doesn't drink much liquor) or because she sees it as a classic. My Dad: Orders one long island iced tea after another at the bar. His aim is to get drunk with more bang for his buck. I also suspect that can't appreciate the taste of straight liquor. At home or an event, he will usually go with Budweiser beer because it's what him and his buddies drink. My Grandpa: Very Irish, Enjoys a good whiskey on the rocks(I'm pretty sure he has a collection). He pours about an inch into a rocks glass full of ice when dinner is being made. Lets it sit until the ice starts to melt with the liquor, then sips it very slowly through the duration of the evening. He makes it last a couple of hours from the before dinner to when he finishes his book or paper before heading off to bed. My Grandmother: Not really sure. She might not have a "usual". She's Italian and often gets very giggly and friendly from tasting the wine she puts into the food. It's fun to cook with her. She also likes to make her own wine and sake which she will sometimes sip and proudly offer at meals. That's me. I think it's interesting and would like to know yours. moreResolved Question: What do your parent(s) or relatives drink and why?

Hello All, I am hypoglycemic and I would like to know how I can still drink alcohol. I'm not talking about getting drunk, but I would like to enjoy a couple drinks at dinner or out with my friends without getting a headache and tremors!!! I am 25 years old and 130 lbs. Also, please note that I am hypoglycemic and NOT diabetic! I have been hypoglycemic since I was 14 and I manage it with diet and blood-sugar testing. My body can tolerate 2 drinks on a full stomach, and even then I often get a headache and become ill. Many times I will have 2 drinks, I won't even be near drunk, I will feel fine, I will drink water before I go to bed, and then the next morning I will have a headche and puke. I usually puke yellow bile for about 3 hours until I feel normal again. (I'm sorry, I know it's gross!) Many times I will puke before I go to sleep, and I will still feel the same amount sick in the morning and still vomit up bile. And this with only 2 drinks in me! For these reasons I rarely drink. Not drinking has never really bothered me until last week when I was at my friends' engagement party. I had 1 glass of champagne, tons of hor d'ouvres, and a huge 5-course italian meal with a glass of wine. All of this was consumed in about 3-4 hours, so it's not like I ate or drank quickly, and I still had a terrible headache with tremors by the time I got home. I just felt terrible that I can't enjoy meals and celebrations the way other people do. I really envy people who can drink. I don't understand why I can't even have a couple of drinks when I eat so much. I have tried many remedies such as eating alot while I drink, which helps some, but most of the time I still get headaches. There has only been 1 time in my LIFE when I drank alot of alcohol and had no other symptoms. I will tell you the story. It was about 4 years ago and I was going to a concert with some friends. For dinner I ate a sub, then at a bar I had 2 shots of vokda-red-bull and 1 beer. (My friends know about my condition, and I myself was expecting that I would get sick at some point.) Then at the concert I had about 4 more beers. This totaled about 7 drinks over 5 hours, and I was somewhat drunk. Then we ate at Waffle House and I had a fried-egg sandwich and hash-browns with extra cheese. We were still expecting me to be sick, but it never happened. Even the next morning, I felt 100% normal with no hangover. This was the most surprising part, since my hangovers usually consist of killer headaches and puking bile for at least 3 hours in the morning. I don't know why I never got sick. I have since tried to replicate this scenario by eating a full meal after a night of drinking, but it has not worked since. I'm sorry this post is so long! Like I said in the beginning, I am not trying to get "drunk," I would just like to figure out how to enjoy a couple drinks with dinner or something without getting a headache. My main questions are: 1- Are some alcoholic beverages better tolerated than others for hypoglycemics? 2- What exactly do you eat before and after you drink alcohol? 3- I have heard that taking an activated charcoal supplement will help with the symptoms, but I haven't tried them. Has anyone heard of this or tried this? 4- Are there any other supplements or medications you can take before you drink? 5- I don't know if I drink too much or too little water when I drink alcohol. I drink alot of water, so I think I drink too much water when I drink alcohol. How much water do you drink when you drink alcohol? 6- When you do get symptoms such as headache immediately after drinking alcohol, how do you resolve it? 7- I don't know if diabetics experience the same things when drinking alcohol or not. If so, how do you resolve it? I would greatly appreciate personal experiences from other people who have this condition. Please be specific! Thank you to all!I have asked my doctors this over the years and they just tell me not to drink. This is why I wanted people who are hypoglycemic or diabetic to answer this question. I get sick because my blood sugar drastically drops, not because I don't have the stomach for it. I know there is a way to manage it with alcohol, I just don't know how. If you are not hypoglycemic or diabetic you will not understand. moreResolved Question: Hypoglycemia (*not diabetic*) and Drinking Alcohol?

Every customer that came in, I loathed. When people rushed into the Italian restaurant, 'Delizioso', they took their seats and waited impatiently to be served, and I had to wait on every one of them. After I approached a well groomed couple, I began to realize that my area to serve was completely full, with the exception of a table. Oh, great. I drifted expertly around each table, making sure I didn't hit a patron along the way. Once every table had been taken care of, I slumped on the hostesses’ desk. Lydia looked at me with curious eyes. "So, how's the old girl doing tonight?" Although I was only nineteen, Lydia liked to make fun of how easily I got worn out. "Not too good. Hear I've only got a week left." Lydia shook her head and a broad smile flashed across her face. Lydia was a gorgeous girl. She was a fake blond and since she had dyed dark brown to blond, her hair was currently a mix between yellow and orange. Freckles were dotted across her little nose and complemented her chocolate brown eyes. As a couple entered the restaurants doors, Lydia was making sure the stack of call cards were arranged neatly and plastered a smile on her face. When they reached Lydia, I had to do everything to keep myself from staring. A young woman, shorter than my 5.1", sauntered up to the desk. Her hips swayed with elegance that I could never achieve, even if I tried my hardest. She couldn't have been more than eighteen years old but the girl's shoulder-blade length hair was naturally white, with thin streaks of gray throughout her hair. The odd thing about the young girl wasn't just the color of her hair, it was that her full lips were a light purple and her complexion was pale. She looked like a walking corpse. Has to be make-up, I thought. The young girl was both beautiful and horrifying. A light pink dress that flowed to the floor hung perfectly on her flat body. Her arm was clinging tightly to a male that was as equally stunning. He seemed to be about my age, and he looked like he went on forever next to the short girl. The boy's dark brown hair sat just above his shoulders and clung tightly to his neck, his fringe swept to the side. His dark eyes looked spectacular with his slightly wide nose. The boy's thin lips had piercings in each corner of his mouth; I'd heard Lydia call them 'Snake Bites'. I was smitten from the first time I saw him, and I was surprised when I didn't swoon. After my thorough analysis, I snapped back into reality. "Hey there, what can I do for you tonight?" Lydia asked. The boy glanced at the young girl and she was staring into space, her lips in a fine line. "Hello, uh, we have a reservation under Stevenson." Lydia scanned her list, her face screwed up in concentration. When she looked up, a grin curved her lips. "Yes, Estelle they're in your area. Would you mind showing them to their table?" She raised her eyebrows and I winked. "Please, follow me." Once we had reached the table, they took their seats. "So, what can I get you tonight?" The girl kept her firm line and she didn't even gaze at me. The urge to wave my hand in front of the girl’s face and yell ‘HEY, I’M HERE!’ Was immense. "Willow will have a glass of red wine, please. And I'll have a glass of Coke and ravioli Bolognese." His eyes gave me the 'up, down' and when he had completed he grinned, happy with what he saw, I assumed. It took me a minute to gather myself and scribble down what he said. "I'll be back in about ten minutes with your order." I beamed at him and strolled off, giving my bum a bigger swing as I felt his gaze on my back. Any suggestions and advice is welcome. So, what do you think? This is going to be really hard to explain, but one thing that bugs me is cheesy, poor Italian artwork in restaurants or anywhere. For instance, a large picture of a sloppily painted wine glass or spaghetti in a bowl. I don't get what the matter is with interior decorators now. It's like they're thinking "we could have cool abstract art or neat fine art such as a sunset/ocean, but no lets have huge sloppy pictures of wine glasses and spaghetti in the entire restaurant." Does anyone else know what I mean and what are your opinions on this? It's like good art isn't hip enough for fine dinning restaurants now LOL!I don't mind it in Italian restaurants that much, but it bugs me everywhere else. moreResolved Question: What wine should I pair with my pizza?

I've lived in San Francisco Bay Area my entire life. There are many Italian restaurants in North Beach. I've also eaten at the fast food type establishments like Olive Garden. To me, a modest plate of pasta with tomato sauce and 3 little pieces of green veggies should not cost more than $11. Some people say, "Oh, it's the ambience that you are paying for." The atmosphere at Italian Restaurants is supposed to be something intimate and special. I don't understand it. Maybe it's because I'm Chinese and most of the Chinese Restaurants in the San Francisco area are dirt cheap compared to the Italian eateries. But I'd rather eat on a plastic chair sitting next to a busy street breathing in auto fumes for $4 slurping on a huge bowl of freshly cooked egg noodles in chicken broth with tender beef strips, bean sprouts, and a fistfull of cabbage rather than a candlelit dinner with spaghetti, glass of wine, and 3 small pieces of broccoli eaten on a real table cloth for $22 which is exactly what I paid last time I ate at an Italian Restaurant in San Francisco. It's not just San Francisco that Italian food seems to represent poor value. I've been to Thailand as well, where Pasta and Noodles charged me $32 for a plate of salmon, pasta, glass of wine, and another dish. Every place I've ever been, the Italian restaurants charge a lot of money and don't offer much in return. I've also been to China, and Cancun Mexico and again, the Italian eateries always offered the smallest amount of food for the greatest price. My brother told me he found a great Italian restaurant near 1st St. in New York. This was prior to 2005, but they charged around $10 for a heaping plate of pasta, enough for 3 days. If they had an Italian restaurant in SF that offered 3 days of pasta for $10 I would be all over that. Thanks everyone for your responses. Italian food is one of my favorites as well which is why I posted my question. I don't like having to pay $13 for a small plate of pasta and 4 small pieces of asparagus. And I'm not going to the high end places either. I've tried Italian restaurants all over, if it's too expensive I leave, but there aren't any cheap Italian restaurants as far as I know in the SF Bay Area. As far as Rush is a Devil Racists' Comments take a look at Olive Garden in Palo Alto: $15 for spaghetti and meatballs?!? $13.75 for small plate of fettuccini alfredo?!? Those are budget prices? Those are not budget prices. That's expensive and you called Olive Garden a budget restaurant. And none of those dishes come with steak either. moreResolved Question: Do European countries, such as France or Italy, still drink wine during pregnancy?
We all know that t he French and Italians love their wine, I have heard that Italian's have a bottle of red wine with dinner, so a glass every day. Do they still drink this during pregnancy? because a glass of red wine a day is actually really healthy for you... I do not mean abuse alcohol to excess, I am meaning A (meaning ONE) glass. I asked this before, but didn't really get the answer I was looking for. Please don't comment if you don't have anything worth saying and just feel like being obnoxious, it doesn't benefit anyone. Also, it's been edited. The other day I picked up a bottle of patron silver to celebrate being single again. Over the course of 2 hours, I went through 5 double shots and 2 regular shots (some glasses were not filled all the way so it was a little more than 9 shots), and 2 beers. I didn't feel a damn thing. Is there something wrong? If I'm correct, that's 9 shots of straight tequila, and 2 beers, and I wasn't even buzzed. I'm being 100% honest. I'm concerned, not bragging because I had 5 double shots and 2 regular shots and felt nothing. I drink, but only on the weekends, I've been drinking wine with every meal since I was young (I'm from a french/italian family), but not recently. 2 weeks ago, I had 14 beers and I had a good buzz, but it was interesting/worrying when I managed to have so much tequila. I'm also assuming it wasn't tampered with because the bottle was still sealed with the patron seal and it had the plastic wrap around the cork. Again, please don't get the wrong idea, I have no reason to distort the truth and have no desire to impress anyone. Oh, and just for the record, I'm 6'1 175lbs I tried the match trick and it only works with stronger alcohols, but there's no way it could have been watered down, it's perfectly sealed.to answer a few questions or assumptions: -I ate a bowl of cereal, a mixed salad, and a slice of pizza all day the day this happened. -there was no way it was tampered with because all the seals were perfect and it tasted like every other bottle I've had -I ate probably 2 hours beforehandAlso, I do not smoke anything of any kind (no hookah, no cigarettes, the occasional cigar for occasions but my last was several months ago, no weed) and I do not use drugs and never willAnd what I usually drink is light beer, smirnoff ice-esque products (I prefer flavor over drinkability), rum (in small amounts) moreResolved Question: would you have an attitude with the person who told you..."you have an attitude." when you don't have one?
Okay, so here is the deal. We're eating dinner, Pasta (I'm italian) and tonight with dinner, I'm having a glass of wine, (for the first time in like a year) so my 7 year old asks "what are you drinking?" and I said "Wine" she then turned around and went "wine?, your drinking wine?" kinda like, not rude, but like I was wrong for having a glass of wine. (her daddy goes out quite frequently, and comes home late at night quite frequently, and she knows when he goes out that he'll drink alot of beer, and I always talk about, a beer being okay, or even 2, or a glass of wine, but that getting drunk is not okay. But she was kinda in a tone of "you shouldn't do that." so all I said was "Yes, its wine, its okay for mommy to have a glass of wine." then her daddy turned around and said to her "ask your mom why she is being so defensive about it then." well, I wasnt being defensive...but him telling her that made me angry, because there was no reason for him to say that, I wasn't being defensive, and she was just asking a question, but he was trying to instigate it into something more. So I got angry at him, and then he told me I had a bad attitude, so then I of course got an attitude, and he said "see, you have an attitude right now." and I'm like, duh! why wouldnt I? he does things like this all the time in front of our 7 year old, more and more, and then it makes me look stupid, and makes it hard for her to listen to me, because to her Daddy is her hero, her daddy you know? so if he is trying to make me look dumb...and she's impressionable by that..how do I handle that? I've talked to him about this before..but when he is in one of these moods..it doesnt matter what we've talked about before.you guys are misunderstanding..I dont tell her about her daddy, but there are times where she will wake up in the mid of the night..and come into our room, and he's not home yet..or when he comes in late at night, and ends up waking her up by the doors opening and closing, and getting food out of the fridge, and then the bathroom..etc (our house isn't the quietest, and she's a very light sleeper) at those times she'll come in, and he'll smell like a brewery..and then there are plenty of times when he is here with his friends for football, or some other sport and they drink..I really try my hardest to never say anything in front of her..the subject of getting drunk came up because she wanted to know why kids can't get adult drinks at restaurants ( you know ..the ones they make look like milkshakes?) I always do my best to make sure her daddy is okay in her eyes. and this didn't seem to be a result of his going out..I don't say anything to him about going out, theres really no ...contthere no use in saying anything about his going out all the time..because all it does is cause a fight..but he'll still go out, so I've given up on saying anything. but there are some nights/days..that he'll just get in these moods, where what I'm doing is all wrong, what I say, how I say it, who I say it to, why I say it....etc..and he always does it in front of her, and it usually in someway involves her. It causes alot of confusion for her, because when it occurs..she's like..well whats the deal? is mom wrong or is dad wrong? and then I'm madder at him for even putting a 7 year old into that kind of thinking. my point is...he's saying..after he does all this..that I have a bad attitude, so then I said to him "well..wouldn't you? if someone wasn't doing or saying anything wrong, but your try to make it seem that way..woudln't you have an attitude." and he said "no..I would say nothing so that I didn't prove them right." so them I'm thinking..okay, I'm not suppose to stand up for..myself? is that the right thing to teach her (7 year old) when is it okay, to not say anything and to just ignore them..and when should I say something so that it doesn't look like I'm being the weak little woman? which after his comment on what I should do..kind of sounds to me like he's having a power trip, and basically wants me to let him. moreResolved Question: Who wants to sell their virginity?
Natalie Dylan, who recently received her bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies from Sacramento State, went on Howard Stern earlier this month to sell her virginity for a cool mil to pay off her tuition bills. Um, last time we checked, state schools weren’t that out of reach, but we can’t blame the girl for upping her ante. Since Dylan’s sister is one of the working girls at Nevada’s most infamous brothel, and subject of HBO show Cathouse, she worked out a deal with proprietor, Dennis Hof, and her hymen is up for bidding at BunnyRanch.com. But Natalie is picking who will pluck her and all interested parties must first pass her interview process. In addition to deep pockets, the gent must have chemistry with the young businesswoman. “We’ll take bids until I find a suitor I’m happy with,” Natalie concedes. [NY Daily News] Raffella Fico, a beautiful bikini model and reality show star, won’t give up her v-card for less than fame and fortune. At 20, Raffella might still be a chaste Catholic, but she’s a total whore for cash and publicity. Despite her seductive men’s mag spreads and bunking up as a co-ed for a season of Italian Big Brother, she swears she’s never had a boyfriend. So after all these lonely years, Fico promises to drop her panties for 1 million Euros or $1.8 million dollars. Whew, the conversion rate makes this selection even steeper! But unlike her American counterpart, Raffella is more egalitarian about her offer. “If I don’t like him, I’ll just have a glass of wine and forget about it,” she promises. After all, Fico wants to learn how to fake it and intends to use the money for acting lessons and a home in Rome. [The Telegraph] Graciella Yataco is the smart seductress who started it all. The 18-year-old Peruvian model was barely squeaking by in 2005. She was responsible for her mother’s medical bills and also had to support her younger brother. So she decided, in an unprecedented move, to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. While a Canadian man offered her $1.5 million, mostly what she got from her religious countrymen was a lot of hate mail and public humiliation. Despite her sob story, no one offered to simply make a charitable contribution. So, after the desperate debacle, Gracia was somehow still hopeful she could better her situation on her own and at the last minute, she backed out of the deal. Okay so I just wanted to ask a question. Do you think that 14 is too young to have a small glass of wine at dinner? I know the Italians do it but I wanted to know. Its not meant in a to be drunk way. Its meant in a proper way. And I also heard red wine is good for you. moreResolved Question: What drinks should I try?
I am 18, almost 19. I am going to the Bahamas. (No, not a cruise so I don't need to worry about cruise line regulations.) I know the legal drinking age is 18 so I'd like to try some drinks. I do drink on occassion now with my family at holidays and such (I was raised Italian). I enjoy sweet and wet wines. I am not into dry wine. I hate beer. I sometimes like harder stuff (Vodka+juice, Kaluah Mixes, etc). I don't like rum, but I do like coconut rum. I enjoy Pina Coladas and Daqaris. I tried a strawberry margarhita, but did not like it. All of this is from sips, tastes, and maybe a glass on holidays. Any ideas on what to try in the Bahamas? I want something new. Of course by my taste I'm sure you can figure out I'm a girl. I don't know if I'm a light weight because I don't drink a lot. Ideas?Oh trust me! I do NOT plan on getting drunk. I just would like to enjoy a drink with dinner. I hate that I can't do it here. I NEVER want to get drunk. Vomiting and making an idiot out of myself is not my idea of a fun night. And hang overs? No thanks! moreResolved Question: My Dream Woman, for an Italian guy like me.?
This would be my Ideal Dream Woman....White (greek,Italian, spanish) or Hispanic, nothing else but I prefer Hispanic, tanish skin or dark complected, eye color really does not matter, I like thickness however it is not a priority, between the ages of 20-45 because I am 21, comes from a good family, great personallity, She can drive a junker or nothing at all because I really don't care, she can have kids but realize that I would just be a father figure not the actually father, Cathloic or a sect close to it, I really do not care how she earns her money as long as she does not have sex for it and preferabily not strip for it, loves to cuddle and watch movies and know the actor Armand Assante because he is my faverite, loves to have a glass of wine here and there....Now I am looking for all of these qualities :) is that so hard to ask for?yes your right I have to look at myself... moreResolved Question: I have a glass pot-bellied teapot/jug? with silver handle and silver mount with a tealight candle. What is it?
I have been told it is a Moroccan teapot but it doesn't have a long spout like them. The lip looks more like a claret jug so its possibly for cooking mulled wine or serving coffee or Italian hot cocoa? The silver lid looks like a Moroccan teapot lid with a hole to serve. The silver handle wraps around the neck then extends out and down for the handle (like half a loveheart). The mount encircles the pot and tapers down to the candle holder (centrally placed). It has a claw foot stand. It is not antique, it was made in Hong Kong (sticker, removed). Also any ideas on value would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: spaghetti and red or white wine???

Okay....before I found out I even was pregnant with my son (5 years ago) husband and I went to a family New Years Eve dinner, I had a glass of wine. And I know that one glass of wine does not do much for me and I feel fine. But I remember having only 5 sips of my wine and feeling totally bubbly and to intoxicated. So I did not finish my glass of wine and ate my dinner. Then a few days laters I found out I was pregnant. Today my husband and I went to have a nice italian meal out, I ordered a nice white wine, and after only a half a glass I felt the bubbly and intoxicated feeling. So I did not finish my wine and ate my meal. I am late by a week now, and took a pregnancy test yesterday it was negative. But I kinda feel like cycle is going to start.. but nothing. So has anyone ever felt this way from alchol BEFORE you knew you were pregnant. I rarely ever drink, but the occasional fine wine with dinner. Has anyone ever noticed this with them? I know I am not having any wine till I find outYes... indeed once I knew I was pregnant with Maximus ...I could not stand the thought of it. And today at the resturant I drank my half glass of wine and felt the bark reflex, kinda dry heave feeling. But just hoped my meal would hurry and get there so I could eat a bit of food, so I would not feel nausiated. moreTop Italian Wine Glasses Links
